Game Changer
I’ve been debating about how I’m going to write this; I’ve had a very emotional couple of weeks. Not in a negative way, but an amazing experience and something that has changed my life. I was finally able to get diagnosed with ADD. Successfully prescribed medication to help me.
Originally I just felt like I needed it to succeed in school. I had to start in the summer to get the right brand, right dosage to prepare for school in the fall. It has done so much more for me than I ever could have imagined. There has always been things I just wished I did better. Didn’t forget things too much, get distracted so easily, accomplish something or anything I set out to do. The past couple of weeks; I have taken the drug and noticed a COMPLETE change in brain function! I feel confident, motivated, encouraged to do things that I was just scared of failing at. Simple tasks such as, doing dishes or cleaning in general always took me forever to start and forever to finish. Now I can just do it! I thought this was going to impact school and my performance at school, but this has changed my life. I have so many ideas, dreams and things I want to do. Before, I was more scared of failing than doing anything else.
Today marks one of my greatest accomplishments. I’ve accomplished so much in my short 23 years already, but now that I can harness this brain that’s in my head, this personality that everyone loves and my passion for helping people and technology. Combine that together and there is my dream job. Today I did that for the first time, and it felt amazing, like I’ve been doing it forever, and maybe I have just didn’t realize it. I still have a lot to do, as I always have. But at least now, I have a schedule in my head, a process of elimination of tasks and a sense of productivity which I have never had. Organization, the ability to focus and not forget like a gold fish does every three seconds. Now that I am medicated, this is a real game changer! I’m going to change the world, I’ve always believed I could, but now I know I can!
Mid July and this Weather
It’s middle of July and the weather has been everything but great, we haven’t had really nice days(that I haven’t been at work for), but I’m going to the lake Sunday and I swear, I could not be more excited about the forecast!!!
Microsoft partners conference
It’s interesting. I find myself very asking myself why I am so drawn to Microsoft and their technologies. I love Microsoft a lot. I love everything about them. Their windows 7 is incredible, office, bing maps, office 360, xbox, kinect, zune, azure and not to forget my favorite Windows Phone 7! After all this I’m still writing this blog post on my iPad and my laptop which I use everyday is running Ubuntu. Right now I’m watching Steve Balmer talk about how the company is moving forward and what’s is the future and I totally feel they have a grasp on what people want and need. My favorite thing Steve Balmer said was “Phones, we’ve gone from really small to very small, but were getting there” which is very true.
Apple has struck it gold with 1 concept. Touch screen! they didn’t invent it, they just pretty much perfected it! They were first at the plate and I think that’s what pushes that company. I sell phones and I have to say that iPhone is incredible, but even with competitors catching up and for the most part in my opinion going past; it’s still the the biggest buffet of “stuff”. I still have my 3GS and I continue to use it for certain things my iPad is just too large for. Today when I went on my run, I use MotionX GPS to track my speed, pace, route and time. It’s an incredible app that I found like two years ago and still love it. Is there one device that you can have and it do everything you need it to? Of course not, why would a company put all their eggs in one basket? I could go on for days about this topic because I have such great ideas and opinions on all this stuff it pretty much drives me crazy. Hopefully someday I will have people to listen to my ideas and maybe even get paid someday to tell people how they can use these technologies to make their entities / lives as productive and enjoyable as possible!
